AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

Why is there so much pressure on women to look good, specially from the society I come from, daughter-in-laws are expected to dress in a certain way, look in a certain way? How to change this 😥?

Beauty, including beauty of form, is an attribute of the Divine but the modern interpretation of beauty as synonymous with physical appearances, and the various artificial products to make one look good is an asuric distortion of a deep truth. Beauty and harmony go together and it is a package that includes physical, vital, emotional, intellectual and our spiritual being. Physical beauty with ugly thoughts and dark motives is the prototype of Sooparnakha, something diabolic and dangerous, like a golden crown on the head of a pig. But that is how modern civilisation that values outer appearances does to humanity, to inverse the values and falsify them.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
