It means that a faith that the Divine need not act according to our ideas and wishes for us to have faith. Most human beings believe that if they have faith then the outer circumstances and situations of life will change according to our idea of what they should be. But the Divine Power sees things in a different way. It looks at hidden forces at work, the higher possibilities in us and, if needed for our good, may even take us through difficult and challenging circumstances if that be needed for our soul. So if our faith depends upon these outer things then obviously it is more like treating the Divine as an Omnipotent miracle doer who is at our service.
True faith does not depend upon these things or on any outer thing. It trusts that the Divine will always do good even if we do not understand it at the moment. It leaves everything in the hands of the Grace and keeps the faith that whatever happens will be for the good.
Affectionately,
