AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I’ve always been wondering that our current suffering has got anything to do with our past life sin. I just want to know about this because I’ve been suffering from mental illness. I’ve always wanted to commit suicide. I don’t like this life at all. One day I’ve had almost tried to kill myself but something was stopped me. I was also sexually assaulted by men. Is it also related to my past life sin😭💀🖤🥀?

Sin is a human invention. The sense of sin and guilt played a role at some point of time in our social evolution. But they are not absolute truths. It needs to be replaced through constant learning by experience and conscious discernment. However, the groves and tendencies we set forth in a lifetime often gets carried over in another life. If life threw a challenge or a difficulty and instead of learning and growing from it we simply try to escape then it keeps returning back and grows bigger and bigger. This is especially true of suicide. It is never an escape. In fact it only makes things worse and the tendency is carried over in another life. It is best therefore to face the challenges of life with faith in the Divine. Suicide is not a solution, it only adds to the complication.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

And if so, was it built? Or is it more in the subtle space over India? Please could you shed some light? 🛕🗺️😊🙏🏻🌸

Here is what Sri Aurobindo himself said (in third person) when asked about the idea of Bhawani Mandir. …
