AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Mother has told that desire is more contagious than an illness. How does one protect oneself against this contagion of desire especially if we are required to work in settings where one has to constantly mingle with people and places where desires are rife such as corporate? If someone next to you has a desire, it enters you.πŸ€€πŸ¦ πŸ˜·β€οΈβ€πŸ”₯

This is a real difficulty, especially in the typical work setup that is centered around the satisfaction of desire. The best way is to stay focused on the work, in a state of inner remembrance. Have goodwill towards all while taking care not to get into frivolous conversations and typical vital interchanges that happen due to social intermingling. Initially people may look upon you as a queer someone but later they respect you for your integrity and honesty of purpose. One doesn’t need to cut off with the world around but simply stay a little inwardly oriented, concentrated upon the Mother in the heart while engaged with people according to necessities of the work. It is like being in the world but not of the world, with everyone around outwardly but with the Mother alone inwardly.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
