Sir, I would like to know from you about Karni Mata. Her temple is very popular, which is located in Deshnok near Bikaner city in Rajasthan. The temple is also famous in a way that there are lots of mice in the temple, which did not cause any disease to the people. I have seen people taking ‘Jyoth’ not only in this temple on even other temples in Rajasthan. what is the significance of taking ‘jyoth’?πŸ›•πŸ”±πŸŒ…πŸœοΈ

Karni Mata is one of the emanations of Maa Durga who was born in a family connected with the royal family. Among the many miracles that she performed, one of them was helping the departed. The white rats are supposed to the children who died and come to her for helping the transition from this world to another. Jyoti, like the Fire, is the symbol of Divine Knowledge and Power (as Light and Heat). It has been an ancient practice of invoking the Divine Shakti through the Fire. If done consciously it can be a powerful means to invoke the Divine Forces in the atmosphere.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
