AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Sir, whenever I think about watching a movie or a series, I start feeling something unpleasant. It doesn’t feel good. I get a different kind of feeling that is not joyful. Even when I start watching, I feel something inside, like—“What am I doing? Am I betraying Mother?” So, should I not watch movies? Or can I watch them? Is this coming from my mind or from the psychic being?🎞️🎥🍿🎬

These unpleasant and not-good thoughts and feelings come.

These thought suggestions come from a type of adverse forces that want the sadhak to feel guilty and unfit. Do not listen to them. The Mother rarely spoke of dos and don’t. She wants us to grow conscious about why we do what we do. One may watch a movie for sensual stimulation or for a beautiful story. It is the motive and the type of movie which is important. Watching horror or crude and vulgar movies debases the consciousness and hence is harmful. On the other hand there are movies that inspire, reveal beautiful shades of life, courage and faith and endurance or of  high possibilities or a kind of ideal or a subtle, profound truth. These are clearly good and even helpful to understand life better.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
