AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Was going thru the book “A divine life in A divine body “ Nowadays , we hear so much about psychic abilities and mediums … How are these different? Should one try to develop these as a part of Sadhna to have a true connection with the divine. How do we separate psychic being from a psychic?✨🧍‍♂️🪷🧘‍♀️

Which shares instances in which mother said she can see things with their past , present and future .

‘Psychic’ abilities or powers belong to the occult domain of our being. In other words it means that there is a larger, vaster subliminal mind behind our mind, a deeper, more powerful life behind our life, even a subtle physical beind the physical body. Ordinarily we live bound by the surface consciousness and hence are unaware about these domains that have greater powers than our surface consciousness. The reason is that these inner domains are less tied to the physical consciousness and more open to the universal consciousness. It is called as the inner being in Sri Aurobindo’s terminology.

The psychic being is still behind, still deeper. It belongs to the Transcendent Divine. It is a portion of the Divine, the secret soul in man that develops from life to life until it becomes one with the Supreme Divine Itself.

The occult domain with psychic abilities may, in fact, do awaken as the consciousness turns inwards towards the Divine. But these are not without their risk and tend to sometimes carry the seeker into an intermediate zone where truth and falsehood is mixed. Traditional yoga cautions the disciples from treading into these domains as they often require a close contact with the Master. But the psychic proper, the secret soul belongs to the spiritual domain and can be pursued without the help of a living Master.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

It is a beautiful aspiration. Nourish it by taking The Mother’s Name within you. Nurture it by regular study of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother’s Words. Do all you do in the spirit of nishkama karma and practice equanimity in the face of all outward disturbances. Offer all you do to the Divine Mother. That is the main thing required. The …

Dear Sir, Namaste. I had a dream in which I was sightseeing in Ayodhya. It was totally different from the real city in every aspect. There were very large temples and monuments, some of which I remember were statues of a horse, a peacock, and an open court of a king; these were stone structures as tall as the Eiffel Tower. 💭🤔🛕🦷🌄[…]
