AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

A question on Conserving Vs Spending Energy. Nowadays, I have become acutely aware of my energetic state. There are times when I almost feel like I don’t need sleep and I function perfectly doing a thousand things. 😊🌼😫[…]

But then there are times when even getting a lot of sleep doesn’t help me get more energy β€” I feel so exhausted. I’ve been curious about the principle behind it. The Jewish Shabbat, where people choose to consciously not do any work for an entire day, and I’ve been wondering whether it’s the principle of Energy Conservation behind it. The reason I’m bringing this up is that I want to increase my productivity and overall level of enthusiasm for Life, which sometimes diminishes, probably due to overstraining of some kind. Can you give some tips on what is the best way to spend our weekend to replenish our stores of Energy for the upcoming week? I usually try to do as little as possible over the weekends, but there are two sides to this coin β€” either I feel great afterwards, or I feel terrible because I feel that I fell into inertia. Please guide me.

The best principle is the one enunciated by Socrates and the Buddha. It is the principle of balance, of moderation, the middle path, so to say. Extremes and swings are best avoided. Though some people advocate the concept of taking a break from time to time, the idea of the Sabbath day. However, in my personal experience, the body and the general system work best with regularity and moderation. In any case, extremes are best avoided. A daily steady regular time for sleep, exercise, play and work is much better than swinging between excess for a few days and then rest for a couple of days.Β

Affectioately,

Alok Da

Yes sometimes it does feel annoying when parents do not listen to the demands of the child and instead scold them. If you see carefully, the reason is not difficult to understand.
