AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I turned 28 this February. I began reading Satprem and then skimmed over the basics of Sri Aurobindo’s Ideas as a supplement. From November to January, I had intense experiences at the Psychic Centre behind the Heart, which used to be perceptible throughout the day. Suddenly, it went away. Now it aches when I try to focus there. Feels like something has been pressing down on it. What to do, Alok Da?🌫️🤔❓

It is an indication that some more preparation and purification are required to enter the doors. It is also important to do physical exercises regularly to ensure that it is not an encroachment of tamas, the need for relaxation that often follows a period of intense concentration. In any case, there is no need to stop the concentration at the heart centre. Do it in shorter spurts of 20 minutes twice or thrice rather than for prolonged periods at one time.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

What was Mother’s view of classical music? I mean, were there composers that she believed could really be uplifting spiritually? I am interested, as it was around the turn of the 20th  century, in her young age and youth, that a coarser movement in music came to evolve. 🎶🎼😊🙏🏻🪷[…]
