AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Could you please guide me on how I can shift this concentration to the Heart Centre? This is more on the personal front. In the readings of Sri Aurobindo thus far – and in your talks – there is a gentle nudge to gradually shift the Concentration to the Heart Centre in order to open the Psychic. 💓🧘🎯[…]

I am finding it difficult to hold my Concentration in the Heart Center while Meditating. Concentration between the eyebrows seems to be more comfortable.

It comes with practice. I myself encountered this difficulty initially since I used to practice, like most persons, concentration in the forehead. While shifting it above the head comes easier, shifting to the heart does not come naturally in most of us, presumably because of our civilisation itself being centered in the mind. But with a little bit of practice on Her Presence in the heart, the doors of bhakti suddenly or slowly swing open and then concentration in the heart becomes the most natural and normal. It is just a question of practice.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
