I’m so wonderstruck. What does it mean? If I read The Mother, will my problem be solved? I’m always afraid of something and sometimes it goes beyond my control. I don’t know, being a devotee of the Mother and Sri Aurobindo, how come I do not have that faith that Mother will solve all problems?
It means that Reading The Mother will free you from all fears. Read Chapter 3 and you will understand.
In any case, one needs to understand that anxieties, fears, depression are totally counterproductive responses. One must do one’s best and leave the rest in the Divine hands. This is what is given to man at present. Rest is always in the Divine hands. And if one cannot trust the Divine, then I don’t know whom one can trust! But if our trust is dependent upon the Divine fulfilling our desires and wishes, then it is not exactly trust but a calculation. Why not trust that the Divine knows what is best for us and will do what is needed for our good. But even there, anxiety is a perverse form of will. By thinking about the negative possibility we give it strength and increase the chances of its happening. Hence, the only right way in any given situation is to do our best and leave the rest for destiny and for God.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
