How do I find balance with the physical world? I have also been to therapy, done years of healing and shadow work (still more to go), but I believe this to be largely unrelated to any kind of dissociative episode.
Dissociative episode is simply a term that explains nothing. There are other terms that equally do not help us. Some people simply have a poor connection with the physical body because the bridges and the subtle links between their subtle body and the physical is not completely built. Hence, they are sometimes susceptible to physical injuries, falls and other such phenomenon. Sometimes they are simply ‘clumsy’ in handling things. At other times, they feel disconnected with the body simply because the links are poor. It also makes one susceptible to Out-of-body experiences and at times, vulnerable to attacks from the occult realm since the body serves as a hard protective covering. There are certain advantages too, as it can develop certain powers and unusual possibilities, an extra sensitivity which might even seem abnormal to someone who doesn’t have it. But developed methodically, it can be an asset as well. The simplest way to deal with this is conscious physical education. Even proper hatha yoga practices will also help.
Shadow therapy, etc help only if there is a deep psychological trauma associated with it, or which triggered the disengagement with the body. It seems unlikely with the very little description you have provided.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
