AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

A disciple of Mother and Sri Aurobindo has been found to be a part of a dangerous syndicate that sponsors anti-national activities. The disciple has also worked with enemies of India and advances their agenda on Indian soil. 🗺️💔😣🙏🏻🌼[…]

I am at a loss to understand how a disciple who is devoted to Mother and Sri Aurobindo enters the dark world of syndicates so brazenly and works for enemy countries while attacking one’s own government at home? I thought the luminous Force of Mother and Sri Aurobindo is automatically a great corrective to the soul.

I won’t go as far as calling her that extreme, though there are plenty of them in India. But it is truly a pity that ambition and need for limelight have taken the better of her. Ambition is always a dangerous bedfellow to the true spiritual life. Unfortunately, people driven by ambition get blind, especially when the ambition justifies itself in the garb of changing the world. Taking a leaf from Sri Aurobindo’s early life, they believe a political revolution will change things. But they forget what Sri Aurobindo himself discovered and gave to us as the fundamental sutra that the future of earth and humanity depends primarily upon a change of consciousness. That should be our primary objective, especially since very few are ready and capable of engaging with this. All the rest, such as change of governments, systems and administrative machinery, cannot solve the problems that have vexed humanity. Let her try and realise it. Her husband is simply a pawn being used by forces that want to disintegrate India. It would have been so much better had his wife advised him not to take this path towards self-destruction, as Mandodari and Tara advised their husbands. But perhaps a quick road to short-term fame can put one’s feet on a dangerous path. It is foolish to believe that hunger strikes and sloganeering change anything.

Nevertheless, she has little to do with the Ashram or the activities and life here. She lives her own life and has the right to have her own opinions like anyone else. There are plenty of devotees like that, in fact, of all kinds, even within the Ashram. It only speaks of Sri Aurobindo’s infinite Compassion and The Mother’s Love that they have accepted all types and varieties as the parasmani accepts base metals and turns them into gold. All of us carry that mixture in different measures as well as the possibility. We look at the difficult side of human nature while the Divine looks at the divine possibility.

Having said that, I am doubtful if she at least has any connection with anti-India forces. I don’t know anything about the man, but I know the lady well enough to say that she does have love for India as well as for Sri Aurobindo. Unless something drastic has changed after her marriage. It is more like the case of someone being misled and misguided by the ego and thereby blind to the glaring anti-India and pro-communist forces driving this whole recent political movement. Of course, no party is perfect, but at least the present government has love for India, despite some of their skewed policies and self-goals. But the brand Communism of the modern left liberals is the most dangerous breed and I may add the most deceptive kind.

I grew up thinking of homosexuality as a perversion and still it feels as such to me. However, I recently discovered that it was normalized in ancient Greece which came as a big shock for me. What are your thoughts on homosexuality and whether it is essentially the same as sex between a man and a woman?

Homosexuality (and its other aspect Lesbianism) have been known and accepted in ancient Greek as well as Hindu Society. It was considered a taboo, rather sinful mainly in the Islamic and Christian world. However these taboos didn’t prevent it from being secretly indulged. The only thing that this secret indulgence created was the …
