How can I understand whether my body genuinely needs more sleep or whether I am simply making an excuse to stay in bed? How do I know when I should listen to the feeling of needing more sleep and when I should just get up and start my day?
Ideally, mornings should begin with positivity and energy, but lately, this thought process has been affecting my mornings, and I don’t understand why.
The average sleep requirements vary between 6 to 9 hours, with 7 hours as a good common ground.
The best timings are to sleep an hour or two before midnight and wake up an hour or so before sunrise, say 10 pm to 5 am. It is best to keep a regular timing. It is also helpful not to wake up in the morning and go to sleep again unless one is sleep-deprived.
It is good to relax a little before sleep, as making the mind very active, even passively through watching reels, etc makes the sleep poor in quality and is one reason for morning tiredness.
In any case it is very helpful in a number of ways not to slip back into sleep after waking up. One should stretch a little, pray and then get up and start one’s daily activities.
Hope this little tit bit on sleep helps
Affectionately,
Alok Da
