As my ego also comes into play, “what will people say?” and all, “how, as a good student, you missed it?”. I am studying and practicing for the interviews. Also, the gap I have realized, I am working on it too.
I don’t want to do comparison, feel jealous, have ego, or frustration. How can I stay grounded and view this entire process as a meaningful journey, performing my efforts with humility as a sincere offering to the Divine? Make every step of my journey a gift surrendered to Mother’s feet. Remember and feel their presence at each step.
The simplest and best formula is what is given by the Gita: do your best and leave the rest- the results and the fruits of the labour in the hands of the Divine. This can be done if there is faith and trust in the Divine Grace. It means that while we make our plans, God has already planned something for us. It is more important to discover the original plan. This can be best done by observing our unique tastes, temperament and tendencies. No two destinies are alike and hence the whole idea of competition and jealousy is meaningless. Just as no two leaves on the same branch are alike, so too no two destinies are the same. We must discover our own true destiny regardless of what others do and leave the rest in the safe hands of God.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
