AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I faced a question & remained silent because I couldn’t answer. My sister-in-law (elder brother’s wife) while taking dinner she told me a ghost once occupied her by force in the night. I told her where ever mother’s photograph is there, there is no chance to enter any (ghost) bhut, pret, pisach to the house. 🕯️🛡️🌸🙏[…]

As one part or a being of mother is present there. Even though you feel her or not, it doesn’t matter; she is always present there. Then she crossed question me that mother’s photograph was there at that night. Still how a ghost occupied me & took away my blood. As she became weak & test her blood & found her haemoglobin range low. But her body structure is strong (hatta khatta).

I think my problem is I want to believe the mother everyone. May you suggest to me how to give a suitable answer in this situation? Because every question has an answer.

There are a lot of false assumptions here.

An outwardly healthy person can surely have low Hemoglobin. There are plenty of patients like that. Low hemoglobin has nothing to do with vampires sucking blood. Perhaps your sister believes in such things. Our own beliefs and suggestions, or even concealed fears and desires, can take such forms. It is usually a deceptive play of the mind, nothing else.

Besides, keeping the Mother’s picture doesn’t mean that such beings cannot come near. Have you not heard of bhoot, pisacha attending the wedding of Shiva and Parvati? The Mother is the Mother of all beings. Sri Aurobindo describes the Maheswari aspect of the Divine Mother thus:

‘Yet has she more than any other the heart of the universal Mother. For her compassion is endless and inexhaustible; all are to her eyes her children and portions of the One, even the Asura and Rakshasa and Pisacha and those that are revolted and hostile. Even her rejections are only a postponement, even her punishments are a grace. But her compassion does not blind her wisdom or turn her action from the course decreed; for the Truth of things is her one concern, knowledge her centre of power and to build our soul and our nature into the divine Truth her mission and her labour.’

However, they certainly cannot touch or harm a devotee of The Mother. By devotee, I mean one who has faith in The Mother and has surrendered to Her. Of course, photographs certainly bring the Divine Presence within our human range. The Divine Mother is present in every heart. But one needs to invoke the Presence every day with the incense of faith and the lamp of devotion.  Otherwise, it is like a temple where service is not offered and the place kept unclean.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I was in Pondi a few months ago and used to attend your sessions, you also know me personally, I have been on this path for a year now. I usually don’t really want to talk about the specific struggles but I am just being open now.

Yes, I understand. Life can be quite challenging at times. But once one navigates through it then there is born a real hero. There is no difficulty, inner or outer that cannot be eventually overcome by the Grace. But we have to hold on to faith and endure the

This seems to be a wave of depression that is trying to catch you, partly because of the loneliness as you don’t seem to have a good friend to share your issues and troubles. Partly it is because of lack of clarity about a goal. Aimlessness often opens the doors to fears.

Thank you for your guidance. Through recent reflection, I realized my struggles stemmed from a lack of true sincerity—reacting from superficial judgments, unnecessary fear, and wavering faith rather than seeing things with humility and patience. 🌱🔥🌸🙏[…]

To recognize the insincerities is itself a great step forward towards sincerity. Most people, even in the Yoga or so they believe, are unable to see their own hidden insincerities. It is indeed a Grace and the sign of the true spiritual life growing in you.
