AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Dear Sir, I had a dream; please explain what it means. I dreamed I was in a pristine, modern art exhibition that gradually turned bleak and discolored. The exhibits featured grotesque, mutated nudes and depictions of corpses beneath a veneer of artificial beauty. 🎨💭[…]

Although designed to be seductive, the atmosphere felt sinister and decaying, filling me with profound disgust. In a private room, an oversized woman pulled me into a brief physical encounter, but any initial impulse vanished as I registered her deformed appearance. Overwhelmed by revulsion, I searched for an escape and finally managed to get out.

What you saw and describe is the actual truth behind modern art and postmodernism. It glorifies the grotesque and the ugly in the name of Realism as if it were something very creative. But Art is about manifesting the beauty hidden within everything. But this kind of modern Art makes even the beautiful look crude and ugly. The white background is precisely the facade of neutrality that postmodernism wears. But it is only to draw one’s attention by blurring all judgments and discernment.

Affectionately,

Alok da

The Lord is both pravritti and nivratti, as the Fire and the Sun are both pravritti and nivratti. As Light they simply stand back and illumine the field but as energy they impel all things into dynamic movement. So too, the Divine as knowledge illumines all things with His Intelligence even without entering into them. But as power, Shakti, He

Are Self-respect and Ego the same? 🪞🙏🏻

Self respect is one of the forms of the ego. It could be a sattwic or a rajo-sattwic ego but an ego reaction nonetheless. The soul never feels insulted or has any need to defend its respect. One who lives for the Divine is not affected by human opinions. The only thing that matters is closeness to the Divine. The insults and opinions …
