AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Sri Aurobindo talks about drawing Divine power to earth to transform human consciousness. But I have read in Mother’s books and also listened in your Youtube video….don’t try to pull the higher or divine to you. Give yourself to the divine more and more. How to understand this🤔?

Sri Aurobindo was speaking of himself drawing the Supramental Power for earth and mankind when he was asked by the disciples as to what he was doing. As the pioneer and pathfinder he had to engage in an unprecedented tapasya as none before him. It is like a scientist discovering the nuclear or solar energy for earth purposes.  But if we try it the effect will be like lifting the mace of Bhima. We will be simply crushed under its power as we are from the sacrifice of desires, equality, fearlessness, egolessness, leave alone the tapasya required. That is why he decided to give this to man through the Mother.  By giving ourselves to the Mother and opening to Her, She begins to work and prepare us, doing the Yoga for us until we are ready to receive the Force.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I am unable to understand this said by The Mother. Please explain to me: “You must use everything for the purpose for which it is given, otherwise you commit a crime. I am not speaking merely of physical things. All the inner things that I am giving you all the time, all the strength, light, energy and life that are being poured into you all the time, are meant for the service of the Divine, for the sake of transforming you. If you use them for any other purpose, you are a robber and your crime is the worst possible.” ~ The Mother (CWM 13:183)

It means that all the capacities that we have, – physical, vital, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, should be offered at the Feet of the Divine for His Work and Service. Most of the time however we take these capacities to be …
