AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Recently I came across a book ๐Ÿ“˜named The Direct Path, by Mr Greg Goode. I follow Swami Sarvapriyanadji’s (Swami Vivekanand Ashram, New York) lectures on YouTube on Adwait Vedant. He had mentioned this book. Have you heard of this book? Shall I read it or don’t even download it?

I am not aware of this book. Seems to be inspired by the Vedantic thought. If so be the case then why not read The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna?

Affectionately,

Alok Da

In my last night’s question I had mentioned Mr Greg Goods, who is actually Swami Amanda’s disciple. His teaching is very step by step, 1) listen to a bell ringing…….close eyes and only concentrate on the sound, what do you hear, you know it is bell, but with closed eyes do you feel its presence…..this way he takes you understand ‘awareness’. and then step by step he takes you thru some 340 pages of example learning, to all is awareness. I have read lot on consciousness, which he calls awareness, I totally understand it, but I don’t feel it. That is why I was thinking about his methods, but wanted to talk to you first.

There are plenty of things like that. Their main help is in calming the mind and developing the power of concentration.ย

Affectionately,

Alok Da

One can fully understand the space from which this question comes. When we look at this world in all its grim and sordid aspects (and there are plenty if we go down the lanes of history), then it is natural to blame it all on the Creator, to pass a summary judgment convicting the Divine without even trying to understand the reasons why the world is as it is. …
