One has to be very quiet and surrendered, that means without eagerness or preferences or fixed opinions, not wanting things to be this way or that, then one is in an inner state to receive the true guidance. It comes as a quiet gentle indication in the heart or else as a surge of inner inspiration.
Please note that the guidance does not come to us success. It does not, for example come to help us get a successful job or ensure a happy marriage. Its purpose is to help us progress, to take us through the path needed for hastening us towards our life’s true goal, even if it be a passage that temporarily passes through a thorny road. That is why one cannot receive the true guidance as long as desires govern our life.
