AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

Can you please explain these lines from Savitri🕊️: Even Light and Love by that cloaked danger’s spell Turned from the brilliant nature of the gods [conti]

To fallen angels and misleading suns,

Became themselves a danger and a charm,

A perverse sweetness, heaven-born malefice:

Its power could deform divinest things.

These lines from Savitri, Book Two Canto Seven, The Descent into Night, reveal the action of the forces of darkness upon earth nature. These forces distort and deform even high divine powers such as love and light (knowledge) turning them into means to deceive and deviate humanity from the straight sunlit paths towards dangerous lanes. Human beings under the influence of these forces of darkness are misled by outer charm and perverse sweetness mistaking these for divine elements. However, the forces of darkness and falsehood use them as a disguise and a cover to attract the novice and the gullible tricking them into a fall or trapping them in a net of danger.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
