“Every moment contains the equilibrium of all the simultaneous possibilities.”
That was an experience. It’s the same as saying that at every moment, you can change everything; if a force comes and changes that equilibrium, all the consequences are changed. In other words, there is neither determinism nor law of “cause and effect” or any of that – there is a determinism, but externally. (28 July 1964, Mother’s Agenda)

It means that freedom and fate walk together always. There is on the one side the determinisms or the chain of cause and effect that we have created due to the energies and action of our mind, heart, will and actions labouring in ignorance. Their effects continues to haunt us under the pressure of habit and past momentum. This is what is ordinarily known as the law of karma.
On the other hand, there is in us the soul. If we can wake up to it and act under its impulsion, we can take a leap, annulling the past determinisms or simply fly over them. They are unable to hold us back and become increasingly powerless before the soul’s growing aspiration and luminous faith.
