In fact, it is The Mother who brought down the descent of the Overmind as well as the Supermind, on the collective level. So we can easily take it that it had descended long long back in Her. As early as 1914, She speaks of Her identification with the Divine Mother as well as the Supramental Consciousness in Her diary of Prayers and Meditations. So we can safely presume that She was experiencing the Supramental descent as early as 1914. However, She began the work of physical transformation somewhere around 1959. She described it thus.
‘Night of 24 – 25 July 1959
First penetration of the supramental force into the body.
Sri Aurobindo alive in a concrete and permanent subtle physical body.’
