AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Alok da since few days my 11 year has started telling me , Mumma you never understand” please help me so I can understand him better and how to deal with him😥

It means he has entered adolescence and one has to stop treating him as a child who has no independent identity. During adolescence children begin to become conscious of themselves and start expecting respect for their privacy, their need for experimentation, the fanciful changes in their tastes and moods. They want to be heard more and adviced less. All this adolescence process has begun. Children themselves don’t understand the changes going on within them and hence feel often confused. They want to be understood but feel no one understands them because they are themselves not clear about themselves.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
