AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Could you please guide me on the root of fear and insecurity? I notice that even in small situations, such as meeting my boss or speaking to someone in authority, I become nervous, fearful, and lack confidence. 😥👥🌸🦋[…]

I understand intellectually that I should trust the Divine and remain calm, but in practice these reactions arise automatically. How can I work on them effectively and develop a deeper trust, confidence, and inner peace in the light of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother’s teachings?

The root of fear and insecurity is the instinct of self-preservation in the ego.

With the steady practice of surrender to the Divine and trust in the Grace, above all, faith that whatever happens will be for the good, the fear slowly tends to disappear.

The practice of Peace and equanimity is also a great help.

Taking the Mother’s name in your heart is also a very good way to awaken courage and drive away fear.

Read books that inspire courage and faith. Include reading some passages from the Mother and Sri Aurobindo in your daily readings.

Ask for these things from the Mother. Practice calling Peace and The Mother’s Name and slowly a wall of peace and faith will be built around that fear cannot penetrate.

Affectionately

Alok Da

Look into the past, the buried past and offer it to the Mother, through writing as a letter to Her,…

Alok da, recently online I’ve encountered this distinction, which is being referred to as scarcity vs abundance mindset. For example, being always anxious and fearful is supposedly a scarcity mindset, while being trusting is an abundance mindset. 🤔🌸🦋[…]

These are nothing else but intellectual e exercises indulged by people who are afraid of surrender or do not want to do it. It is the mind playing games with itself. It is the mind trying to create opposites and thereby compel one side, a better side no doubt, to compel the other. But the human mind cannot be conquered so easily by the ..

I want to come to the Ashram, but the circumstances are not favorable. Should we wait, as everything has its own time? Or does it depend solely upon us? 🏦🙄🙏🏻🪷

One should not precipitate things. Faith and surrender to the Divine Grace are the best inner state. Patience and learning to wait with a quiet aspiration growing steadily within are a wonderful help in reorganizing the circumstances. Thus one should keep growing in one’s aspiration until it becomes imperative to come and one …
