AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Dada, after taking my bath in the morning, I used to pray to Lord Bishnu, Krishna, Shiva, Maa Saraswati and Ganesh ji. So also in evening time for five to ten minutes. It has been continuing for the last several years. I could not avoid it. But Lord and Maa are my Ishta and leading my life accordingly. ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

It is true that the sadhana brings full results when all our energies of worship and service, our love and especially faith and surrender are directed through one form, person, personality, deity, or guru towards the Divine. But this one-pointedness should not be an act of fear or compulsion. It should be a natural consequence of a growing love, faithfulness and surrender. The Divine or the form through which the Divine comes to us is in response to our deepest need and aspiration. We should answer to this Grace with a perfect faithfulness to the Ideal and the Truth that the Divine Representative embodies. But this is best done as a natural, inevitable act of love and not any bargain or calculation which often prompts people to go to different deities for different gains. Giving of oneself can, however be only to one, the one who represents to us the Supreme Divine. When the time comes, it will happen spontaneously.

Affectionately,ย

Alok Da

Good or bad we cannot change others. The only person we need to change is …

I have a question like how to do actual self-giving? Even if we say we are completely surrendered to The Mother, there are still points and situations that show, something in us is still there, holding us back. ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป[…]

Self giving to the Divine is more than selflessness. Selflessness loosens the knot of the ego but still we may not act according to the Divine Will. Bhishma was quite selfless renouncing the throne and serving as a shield to the throne of Hastinapur defending the king regardless of who he was. But he was acting in opposition to the Divine Will. Self giving means to live for the Divine, to make the Divine Service the very motive of all our actions. It means to direct our thoughts to the Divine, to think of the Divine instead of the thousand useless things. With …
