AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Following Sri Aurobindo’s mahavakya, ‘All Life is Yoga’, can we extend it to say these two sentences by extension: 1. All Life is Yoga of Nature (a truth on a cosmic scale), 2. All Life is either a conscious or unconscious Yoga. (a truth both on a personal and cosmic level) 🌍🌱

Yes, this is absolutely true as far as all earthly life is concerned.

Upon Earth, all life is knowingly or unknowingly striving towards Perfection through the process of evolution. It is inbuilt in earthly creations. We are as if pre-programmed to evolve and hence the general dissatisfaction that haunts all creatures here. This is because of the presence of the psychic principle that is found exclusively upon earth.

It is however, more difficult to say that this is true of the universe. There are many typal worlds and universes where there is no progress or evolution. These are the typal worlds, fixed to their types. And hence there is no striving for anything higher or greater. So the word yoga applies mainly to all earthly life. And it is so mainly because of the presence of the psychic principle. It is the presence of the psychic being, whether overtly or covertly, that pushes creation towards yoga.

Yet, since all creation is interconnected so human beings engaging in conscious Yoga is invariably going to impact the rest of the creation, including the typal worlds and their creatures. In this sense, all creation engages in Yoga, directly or indirectly, consciously or unconsciously. But the main event, the Yoga, is going on upon earth.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

It is not just a dream but a real experience. The empty room without furniture and a melancholic atmosphere is the mind and the child who entered there bringing fearlessness and joy is your psychic being who is absorbed in the play oblivious of everything else. You did good to call him again. The child comes naturally where its parents are who provide it the nourishment it needs. That nourishment for the soul is all that brings it the spiritual food, …

Dear Doctor, could you tell me what—within the process of surrender—recognizes and offers the parts of one’s being to the Mother? Is it the illumined mind, the dynamic will, psychological knowledge, or something else? 🔥🌸🙏🏻[…]

Generally it is the part that is most ready and turns towards the Divine takes the lead of the Sadhana. It may be the illumined mind in one person, or the deeper heart in another person, or the dynamic will in those who are oriented towards work and service. Behind it however there is always the psychic flame that has heard the call …
