Help me understand the meaning of Intermiscence and tell me how to get rid of vanity? 🌿🙏🏻

Intermiscence means the mixture of lower elements and tendencies such as habitual concepts, egoistic ideas, ambition and sexual impulse in our aspiration for higher things. These mixtures harm the sadhana and must be removed as part of the purification indispensable for the true spiritual life. 

The best way to get rid of vanity is to cultivate its opposite, that is humility. It means to know and understand that one is nothing and can do nothing without the Divine Grace. It grows as we grow in sincerity and surrender and we discover the relative insignificance of everything except the Divine.

There are three main reasons for this phenomenon in adolescents.

1. Partly it is the nature of the Age we live in, an Age of exceptional freedom and equality. Hence the old norms and patterns are gone and none of the old methods such as fear, punishment etc work.
