AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Who are they, who escape? “Here in Life’s nether realms all contraries meet;…♾️📜🕊️🤍

Truth stares and does her works with bandaged eyes,

And Ignorance is Wisdom’s patron here.

Those galloping hooves in their enthusiast speed

Could bear to a dangerous intermediate zone

Where Death walks wearing a robe of deathless Life.”

Or they enter the valley of the wandering Gleam

Whence, captives or victims of the specious Ray,

Souls trapped in that region never can escape.

Agents, not masters, they serve Life’s desires

Toiling for ever in the snare of Time.”

Which world is referred here?

” bodies born out of some Nihil’s womb

Ensnare the spirit in the moment’s dreams,

Then perish vomiting the immortal soul

Out of Matter’s belly into the sink of Nought.”

“Yet some uncaught, unslain can warily pass

Carrying Truth’s image in their sheltered heart,

Pluck Knowledge out of error’s screening grip,

Break paths through the blind walls of little self,

Then travel on to reach a greater life”

When you find time, please give me some brief answer.

Because I know you have explained all these in details in your talk.

Since I am reading on my own, just give me a hint, as answer.

These are the cosmic vital worlds that Sri Aurobindo has called as the Intermediate Zone or the Valley of false glimmers. This is a zone which most sadhaks pass. In this realm the vital imitates almost every possible experience that can easily deceive the sadhak, especially if he is moved by spiritual ambition. Those with a central sincerity and who rely mainly upon the Divine Grace pass through. Rest may get caught, even pass off as gurus, gather some knowledge and power with a mixture of truth and falsehood mistaking these experiences for the ultimate truth.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
