AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I am unable to understand my future and even my present feels unclear to me. I realize that I am not serious enough when it comes to making important life decisions. At the moment, I am pursuing a B.Com degree, but I am not happy or satisfied with it. I wish to understand whether certain kinds of work naturally align with one’s inherent nature. Is inner alignment or agreement essential for choosing the right path?πŸŽ―πŸ§πŸ•‰οΈπŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ

And how does one recognise or experience the kind of work for which we are truly meant in life?

There is a special place marked out for each one of us. Special does not mean in an egoistic sense, something that will give us name, fame, money etc. It is special in the sense that it is the place marked out for us in the universal concert of life. If we occupy that place then we are at peace within us and we also contribute to the world progress to the extent we are meant to do.

The sign of that work we are meant to do is known by looking for one’s Swadharma. It is the Divine Impulsion in us. It expresses itself as an inner compulsion, temperament, zeal or passion for something, a deep interest that comes naturally, spontaneously. What creates obstacles to this discovery is desire, ambition, greed, etc.

Take some time out everyday to look within and seek the purpose of your life, the path you must take. Pray to the Divine Mother to help you discover your purpose and lead you towards it.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
