AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I feel an urge to have a dog with me, in my house, maybe after I get a job and get settled somewhere. I had one in my college hostel, but kuch din me vo bhaag gaya.ย Should we keep pets? Any inner reality behind these things?๐Ÿ•โ€๐Ÿฆบ๐Ÿฆด๐Ÿถ๐Ÿพโค๏ธ

Love and kindness towards animals is an aspect of the goddess Mahalakshmi. But while keeping pets is fine, it is not always good to let them move freely within the house or share the sleeping room with it. This is because they do bring diseases and sometimes too much mingling of our consciousness with the animal’s is not necessarily good. And if one keeps them then one should take care and be kind towards them.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
