AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I feel more emotionally and readily drawn and attached to Sri Krishna than I do with The Mother yet. I can feel that it is a smaller opening towards The Mother, and it is more mental and conceptual, it is inspired and sweet, but it is less spontaneous and more formal.πŸͺˆπŸ¦šπŸͺ·πŸ’™[…]

On the other hand, I feel something strongly and constantly towards Sri Krishna; it feels more personal. Why could this be?Β  Everything gets complicated by my mind and emotions, making constructions rather than just following my heart to do heartfelt and straightforward actions as offerings.Β

It happens to many. Sri Krishna (and Sri Rama) are deeply embedded in our consciousness for milleniums. Most Hindus naturally turn towards them. The Lila of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother is relatively very new. Besides, they have planted a completely new aspiration upon earth. It is only as the souls evolve and catch this new aspiration that they get spontaneously drawn towards Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. Or else if they had a strong connection with Them in past lives and have been called for the Work. Generally, people turn to Sri Aurobindo first due to the present stage of evolution being centered around the mind. When the heart is open, or the soul is awake, it turns towards the Mother.Β

Each must follow the natural movement of his being. Spirituality is not something that can or should be imposed by the mind. When the time comes, something in us recognises the Guide.Β

Affectionately,

Alok Da
