AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I have been experiencing some discomfort at work over the past few months. A colleague, who joined two years ago, often speaks negatively about me and others behind our backs, while maintaining a cordial attitude in person. 💼🕊️🛡️🙏🏻[…]

She seems to form sub-groups and uses such strategies to get closer to power centers, which has disturbed the harmony of our previously united team. This situation is affecting my peace of mind, and I find myself overthinking it. How should one deal with such colleagues who spread negativity and create divisions within a team?

This is not uncommon in a company setup. There are always rotten apples that spoil the lot by their excessive ambition. Thinking about them infects us with the same disease. Instead, one should go on doing one’s work well as usual, oppose her plans by strengthening the harmony even better. The best way to deal with these forces and persons is to remain unmoved inwardly or at least indifference. These forces draw strength from our reactions.  When they notice that the person or persons towards whom their ill will is directed is not affected, then they become automatically weak and fizzle out.

Affectionately,

Alok da

I am grateful for your guidance in this situation. Alok da, I feel that remaining silent, offering the hurt to the Divine, and praying for peace within myself and others would be easier for me.  But I have one doubt: what if the other person interprets my silence as weakness and continues to hurt or insult me? 🕊️🛡️🌿🙏🏻[…]

Those who indulge in hurting others are already hurtling downwards. They will continue to do what they are habituated to doing. Leave them to their destiny. By getting into a retaliatory fight with them you would only hurt yourself by delaying your journey and gravitating downwards towards them. Take their insults as …
