AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I yearn to break free from the impulses of this vital-level attachment—a struggle I have been engaged in for quite some time. I can clearly observe its surges, its mechanisms, and the way it weaves a web of will to control my mind and inflict pain upon me. 😣🙏🏻🍂🦋[…]

I am surrendering this to the Mother; through Her power and grace, the tide of battle shifts—sometimes I prevail, sometimes it does—and while the conflict rages on, I am fighting this inner war on the Mother’s side rather than the vital’s. I am fully confident that, one day, the Mother will liberate me from all of this.

I can sense the veil of the Chaitya (the psychic being) and its vibrations coursing from head to toe; however, the vital’s attachment to fragrance remains incredibly strong, constantly enveloping me in that scent. I am also acutely aware of how forces from the vital plane launch attacks at night, yet only the Mother can truly set me free from this.

Because of the Mother, I do not feel the pain as intensely; otherwise, compared to the agony I endured in the past, this is nothing.

Please pray that I may quickly emerge from the past, advance toward the mission for which the Mother has chosen me, and take a leap into the future.

I am sure The Mother will pull you out through everything. Keep your faith and aspiration growing. Offer all this pain and surrender yourself completely to Her. She will turn the tears into pearls of wisdom and strength.

Sending my prayers and Her Love for swiftly emerging out of this pain and taking once again the royal road to progress.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

A few months ago, I felt my practice of Integral Yoga had become overly mental and habitual—gathering concepts rather than living the sadhana—so I stepped away and followed a structured traditional discipline involving mantra-japa. 📖🕯️🙏🏼[…]

The sadhana once begun never really stops. Yes one encounters temporary halts, – almost everyone goes through these phases, but that is because we need to assimilate the gains of the sadhana. Often our outer nature may not even recognise. Yet one has received something but more is not coming in either because the container is small …

Dear Alok da, thank you—the lines from Sri Aurobindo in your email helped immensely, and while old holds haven’t entirely left, they feel looser. I find myself happier in solitude, as outer interactions easily muddle my poise, while an intense inner longing to remain anchored to the Mother, Sri Aurobindo, and Sri Krishna continues to grow. 👩‍👧🕊️🙏🏼[…]
