Well this question has been answered by Sri Aurobindo, “The Mother prays to teach us to pray”.
Besides since these prayers are written in identification with the earth nature we can say that She is praying on behalf of all of us, for the earth.

The snakes at your mother’s house seem to be the remnants of some past heredity tendencies that are there in the subconscient nature. They are not harmful but atavistic, remnants of the past…
