AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Is it not ok to connect your Savitri to our life and see that accordingly? 📖🌼 […]

Just as people find answers in the Gita, I often find clarity and solutions whenever you speak on Savitri. Lately, though, I feel stuck in a cycle of distraction and struggle to understand my own state—especially how genuine inner change happens versus superficial outer effort. Does true discipline begin with schedules and concentration, or must nature transform from within, and how does one actually cultivate that shift away from conventional paths? Thank you, Alok Da.

Concentration is the key to everything. Distraction may foster creativity as is required in the field of cinema, advertisement, etc. But otherwise, concentration is the key to success.

Yes, you can connect with a living Scripture like Savitri or the Gita through faith. In that case, the book can help and guide us in taking our decisions. Surely that can be tried.

One can begin the change outside and then let it grow inside. It is in fact easier. Trying to change the within is more difficult. So changing outside, modifying simple things such as regularity, punctuality, outer discipline, helps in the inner change.

I understand your dislike for Management. Look for other options. I am sure there are plenty that would go with your taste and temperament.

Affectionately,

Alok da

My 8-year-old daughter wanted to understand the meaning of this quote by Sri Aurobindo. Can u please explain? The ideal Yogi is not a withdrawn and pent-up force, but ever engaged in doing good to all creatures, either by the flood of the divine energy that he pours on the world or by himself standing in the front of humanity, its leader in the march and the battle, but unbound by his works and superior to his personality. 🌼🙏🏻

It means that a yogi is not someone cut off from life and work and people. He engages with everything but in a new and different way. He has access to a greater divine knowledge, a truer divine love, a more intense divine …
