AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

My daughter she is 10+ yrs old and was reading her textbook asked me what is “Soul”? Please help to give her a correct answer.βœ¨πŸ•ŠοΈβœ¨πŸ€

The soul is a portion of the Divine like a wave rising from the sea, or sparks and flames emerging from the Fire or as Rays coming from the Sun. It is of the same essence and potential as the Divine. But to realise its full potential it must discover its unity with the Divine. If the wave feels cut off from the sea (though it is never cut off in reality) then it has a limited existence and a limited power. But when it knows that it is always connected with the sea then it fears nothing and shares the unlimited force and joy of the ocean.

The soul is like the seed of the Divine in us. It grows through the process of rebirth into the full knowledge and power of the Divine.

In other words the soul is like the little chip or the real information coaded and loaded in an inner space. This ‘information’ in the form of the Divine Energy is never destroyed. It contains within it, coaded secretly, our past as well as the blueprint of the future. In fact all that is noble, high, pure, beautiful and divine in quality comes from the soul. As the soul develops and we become conscious of the soul we too grow in these divine qualities such as wisdom, courage, true love, sympathy, compassion, peace, joy, strength, spirit of service and sacrifice, harmony, real goodness, seeking for God etc. When the soul is undeveloped then the person also, regardless of his or her outer achievements remains inwardly undeveloped. To find the soul is to find the royal door that can lead us to God. It is the key to all that makes humanity beautiful and noble and high.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I’m curious to know what place Sri Aurobindo would have given to Personality Classifications like Myers-Briggs, Socionics, etc. I understand that he spoke of psychoanalysis as an incomplete and partially ignorant tool of understanding the mind. πŸ“–πŸ§‘β€πŸ€“πŸ“š[…]

There was a time, long back, when I read many of these things. Found all of them not only grossly inadequate and limited but also missing the core of human nature, the person behind the personality. It is very much like the story of blind men searching for the elephant in the room and drawing their own conclusions about what the elephant likely is.

If a person is elevating their consciousness and developing themselves into a new consciousness, what about those who have already attained Liberation (Mukti) and have become one with the Supreme Being? According to Sri Aurobindo’s yoga, what is their status? Will they also take on the new consciousness?βœ¨πŸ§˜πŸ•ŠοΈπŸŒ…

Identifying with the Supreme Being is rare. What is generally called as Mukti is departing from the cycle of birth and death into a state of Silence or Nirvana and then merging or losing all one’s individual truth that the….

Sir, the main problem with depressive medicines is that they make the body and mind always sleepy, dull and lethargic. To be honest, I don’t actually know as to how and where to progress on the Spiritual path and in Studies. Even the simplest of things, I am finding it difficult to face off. Really don’t know what to do ahead.πŸŒ§οΈπŸ§‘β€βš•οΈπŸ’ŠπŸ«

This was true of earlier medicines. But now there are much safer medicines with fewer side effects if any especially of drowsiness. There is nothing wrong in taking them and bounce back on your feet in a few weeks at …
