Bu at the same time we delay or underlook our studies and work. Does maa or divine take care of certain needed financial problems of life. If we want to consecrate to divine service. I will do my best but that insecurity comes in loop over and over again.
I do not remember feeling any insecurity of any kind at any time. Though born in a typical middle class economic range with just enough to take care of our necessities plus a little extra perhaps, my parents were exceptional in terms of integrity, honesty and lived a life of simplicity. They were blessed with bhakti, surrender to God and faith in Lord Rama. Having grown up in a pious home where the importance of goodness and prayers was high up and that of money and material comforts low on the scale, i didn’t think of money and material success as something to be pursued. I enjoyed knowledge of every kind and played a number of games. The spare time was spent in the world of ideas and reflecting upon life. Of course by the Grace of God all that is needed to live a decent life came quite effortlessly including my selection to one of the best Medical Colleges and walking into the Indian Air Force. Never felt the need for anything more and hence took premature retirement, refused quite a few lucrative offers in India and Abroad and settled here, in the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, in Her Service at Her Feet.
Having seen the entire panorama of life, I can say with certainty that the sense of insecurities is a kind of falsehood largely created by a world where money and material success are prefered over noble values and high aspirations. One needs money no doubt but not as much as we imagine and there are many other things far greater and much more important than the things that money can buy.
In my experience the Divine alone takes care whether directly or through other channels. But to be under the direct care of the Divine one has to give oneself to the Divine Work and His Service.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
