AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Sir, I have been practicing Gayatri Sadhana🙏 for many years. From my understanding, the Goddess Gayatri is a unified form of Saraswati (Hrim), Lakshmi (Shrim), and Kali or Durga (Klim). By practicing their worship, the Goddess grants her devotees good intellect, prosperity, and strength. She also inspires devotees towards the four goals of life—Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha. Is my understanding correct? In some of your answers, you mentioned that each deity has different powers, and the achievements gained from their worship correspond to those specific powers. So, is my understanding of Maa Gayatri correct? Please help resolve my doubts.

Gayatri devi is associated with a type of metre or rhythm. She is considered to be a manifestation of goddess Saraswati who has set into motion the rhythms of the Vedas, hence the name Vedmata. She brings down the power of Sun (Savitr) hidden in the darkness and illumines the mind and consciousness of the Sadhak. The Sun as Aditya being the source of other deities, Adityas, Gayatri carries something of the powers of other deities as well. However in her action she is mainly associated with the power of illumination. Other powers are dormant within it. However if one has the strong faith and aspiration that a particular deity can grant everything then this faith and aspiration unlocks a door and one passes beyond the deity and her power and action to the Divine Mother who is the sole Original Power, Adya Shakti, and can grant anything if She so choses to give. But this is not because of the Deity or the Mantra but the faith and aspiration in the sadhaka that brings him in contact with the highest through any deity and any means.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Original question asked in Hindi:

Sir mai bahut years se Gayatri Sadhana kar raha hu. Meri samajh se mata Gayatri, Saraswati (Hrim), Lakshmi (Shrim) aur Kali ya Durga (Klim) ka samanvit rup hai jinki sadhana kar ne par mata apane Bhakt ko Sadbuddhi, aishwary aur samarthya deti hai. BHAKT KO JEEVAN KE CHAR PURUSHARTH – DHARMA, ARTH, KAM AUR MOKSHA – KI AOR PRERIT KARTI HAI. Kya meri yeh samajh sahi hai?

Aap ke kuchh answers me apane likha hai ke har devi ya devta alag alag shaktiya liye hote hai, aur unki pooja se milne wali siddhiya unhi Shakti yo ke anurup hi hoti hai. Toh Maa Gayatri ke liye meri samajh sahi hai? Mere doubts ka please samadhan kijiye.

Alok da, I was going through this work by the philosopher Descartes called Rules for the Direction of the Mind. So much of this work is about how to better purify the various human faculties of sense perception, memory, judgment, imagination, etc., so that one can observe minute facts of nature with precision and without prejudiced universal presuppositions and arrive at a true universal knowledge, which is arrived at only after mastery of minute particulars. 🇮🇳🔬📖🌄[…]

Certainly the Hindus knew the various means of purifying the mind and intelligence and, during the heydays of ancient India, the Vedic period and even much later, they did turn it both inwards and outwards. That is how they discovered such wonderful things which included plastic surgery, an elaborate pharmacopeia, warcraft and deadly weapons, principles of politics and administration, rules of mathematics and chemistry, linguistics and …

Sir, is whatever happens with us is always for our best? 🙏🏻🌼

The Mother has given a very beautiful and complete answer to this.

‘Is it really the best that always happens?… It is clear that all that has happened had to happen: it could not be otherwise—by the universal determinism it had to happen. But we can say so only after it has happened, not before. For the problem of the very best that can happen is an individual problem, whether the individual be a nation or a single human being; and all depends upon the personal attitude. If, in the presence of circumstances…
