What is Sri Aurobindo Gayatri? How and when to chant. Any rules and regulations? ☀️🪷🧘👁️

Sri Aurobindo’s Gayatri is the mantra given by Sri Aurobindo to invoke the Sun, a symbol of the Supermind. Gayatri is the metre or rhythm of the Mantra while the Deity is the Divine in His aspect of Truth-Light. The mantra is an invocation to the Light and Power of the Supreme to illumine and transform us.

ॐ तत् सवितुर् वरं ऱुपं ज्योति परस्य धीमहि ।

यन्नः सत्येन दीपयेत् ॥

Om Tat Savitur Varam Rupam Jyoti Parasya Dhimahi

Yannah Satyena Dipayet.

“Let us meditate on the most auspicious form of Savitri (the Sun-god), on the Light of the Supreme, which shall illumine us with the Truth”.One can do it anytime though the mantra aligns with the morning rising sun.
There are no rules or regulations but it is best if the heart gets engaged in the mantra. It should be an act of love and not a mechanical ritual being done to take some advantages.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I am not sure how this impression came across that this saying is about gods and deities. It is indeed, as you say, one of the main foundational principles of Sanatana Dharma, yet one of the least understood as far as its practice is concerned. …
