AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

When in life we face challenges or we have to make important decisions, then the mind comes forward with its different analyses and makes us confused, or tries to create fear in the being, or sometimes it makes us believe that we are taking decisions based on preference, not on valid reason, so that it makes us doubt our own decisions. What should we do in that situation? How to deal with the mind? 😣

Fear and anxiety are of course the worst counselors. One has to make oneself quiet, as quiet as possible before we can truly decide. Mind and reason too often give inconclusive answers, partly because the mind has no certain way of knowing the future which we almost want to control. Secondly, the human mind can justify almost anything and everything. Preferences, desires, ambitions, ego all are experts in the craft of deception. It is best therefore to see things correctly, as they are, rather than justify one way or the other. Seeing this correctly is possible only if we are not burdened by the idea of right and wrong. The mind then almost invariably covers up what it considers as wrong and presents a nice acceptable justification for it. We have to see things as movements of Nature and then see what will help us align and grow closer to the Mother and the goal before us and what comes in the way. Thus the choice becomes simpler and easier. However, even when we are able to discern this, we may not yet be able to do it. In that case too one should offer the movements to the Mother. And finally, whatever be the course taken, we should surrender the result entirely in Her hands.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I am drawn to the Mother’s Teachings, and for the past couple of years spent quite some time reading and taking notes on a variety of subjects. I now feel that I have read enough and it is time for me to start living them. I am doing that, slowly and steadily, notably in work and in parenting. Also, with regards to my health, I am making efforts to regularly exercise, eat a good diet, etc. The Mother herself said this: “It is best to live a Divine teaching”. πŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸ»πŸŒΈπŸŒ[…]

I heard in your recent talk that for a long time of 12 years, the Sadhana moves with ups and downs, but after 12 years, the Sadhana becomes smooth and blissful. Kindly add some more words to it, dear Alok da, as it gives me a sense of Reassurance. πŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸ»πŸͺ·β€οΈβ€πŸ”₯

I said that it is mentioned in spiritual literature that it takes almost 12 years for the basic purification to take place before one is ready to take off properly. It may take long or short depending upon the sincerity. Also one may …

I believed earlier that all of the manifested Universe is a part of the Apara Prakriti. But the Mother says that nature is infra-rational? But then I wonder whether reason is an instrument of Para Prakriti? Isn’t it too imperfect? What is the joining link of Nature with the Mother? πŸŒŒπŸ€”β€οΈβ€πŸ”₯πŸͺ·

Para and Apara Prakriti are simply two different modes of working of One Consciousness-Force. In its origin it is the Conscious Power of the Divine, also called as the Shakti of the Ishwara. The knowledge in the Shakti or …
