I have a question regarding bhakti and the nature of a true bhakta. I have read about bhakti in various spiritual texts, but it never fully resonated with my inner experiences. I seem to have arrived at a few tentative conclusions: The ordinary mind alone appears incapable of sustaining genuine bhakti in the sense described by the scriptures. 😊❤️🙏🏻

Bhakti is not a movement of the mind but of the heart. It is somewhat like falling in love, a movement that is spontaneous and uncalculating. It is not a method but an awakening to the force of Love within us that is turned towards the Divine in a gesture of complestest self-giving. It is not a process but a gesture that springs from the depths of the heart. It is a language of the heart, the unspoken need of the soul, not a mechanical standard prayer with fixed words that the mind forms. Of course, it may begin from the mind or spread to the mind, but the seat of bhakti is the heart; its seeds are in the secret soul.
