AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

1. Dada, if all humans have the same soul, which is part of the divine jeevataman. Then why has everybody evolved ( and is evolving) at a different pace? How come there is so much difference? Is there truly an old or new soul?🔥🌱🙏🏼 […]

Did all souls come into existence at the same time? (I had read a book -Laws of the Spirit World- where the writer connects to her sons through automatic writing; they say a soul has complete freedom to choose to have a human birth and may even choose the womb.) Is it this no. of births that makes it old?

The souls do not emerge all at one point in time. It is like the Divine fire constantly throwing out sparks or like the Divine sun constantly sending rays, each with its own unique destiny. There is a certain degree of internal freedom for each soul to take a long or a short route, depending upon the extent it wants to engage with the manifestation and the qualities it is destined to develop. Accordingly, it evolves not as the same beings but through a diversity of experiences. The longer it has stayed upon earth, the more the number of personalities and complexity it develops.

2. Sri Aurobindo says we are all trustees when it comes to money: dada for someone in the Ashram, one gives it all to the Ashram, but in an ordinary life for someone with family working 9-5. What truly should be the approach, as at times I become overly calculative and then I end up thinking, if I have become a miser, dada, how should one really become a good trustee?

It is not only money, but everything, including our intelligence and capacities are given to us and hence we are trustees. It means we should use it for the Divine Purposes, which means for the growth of light, beauty, truth, peace, harmony in us and in all.

Dada, how do I develop the inner strength and what does it mean by the ability of life force? How can I improve, practice and be worthy of Her?

Pray to Her, call Her, ask Her to grow and develop the needed qualities and capacities to do the Divine Work and all that is needed will develop.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

God residing within us means that the very Source of creation, the Almighty, All-knowing, All-loving Creator is with us. Would you then have any fear or suffering when you know, not just intellectually but as a matter of fact when we discover that the Divine Himself is always with us. All that we will have to do then is to turn towards Him …

Is thought really opposed to action? How to achieve spontaneity in action cos I am struggling with this problem of being decisive and sticking to a plan and rather burden myself with so many permutations and combinations of various scenarios that are gonna play out if I follow a course of action and, in the end, come to doubt the very plan itself. 🧠⚡🧭[…]

The difference between thought and action is a most common difficulty. Its reason is not that the physical mind gets into an obsessive mode. It creates difficulty in decision, an indecisiveness because the mind wants to know with certainty that the decision is correct and the action will bring the desired results.
