As I was going through some articles on the Relics, many authors ( MP Pandit, Madhusudan Reddy) wrote that the Relics of Sri Aurobindo are filled with the Supramental Consciousness.
My question to you Sir, if the Supermind got fixed with the physical matter of Sri Aurobindo on 5th December, 1950, then how can his Relics (as they are collected before this day), which are made up of physical matter, carry the Supramental Consciousness in themselves?Β Β
Physical matter is never purely physical matter. It contains hidden within it life, mind and the Spirit itself. That is, after all, the unspoken logic of evolution that what is involved within emerges through evolution.Β
Now certain individuals of an exceptional spiritual capacity do bring out of the matter certain spiritual forces that give to their body a very special capacity and power, turning it into a hub or a receiver and transmitter of the spiritual vibration. That is how the tradition of sacred Relics and Samadhi began in mystic lore.
With Sri Aurobindo, it was not just some spiritual aspects and powers but the Supramental Consciousness. But this was only for Sri Aurobindo, who was experiencing the descent from time to time. The bones, hair, teeth and nails represent the most Inconscient parts and once consciousness goes there, it remains for very very long, almost indefinitely. But that does not automatically means it is available for earth consciousness in general. It was through the body of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother that people received it. Later on 05th December, it got fixed in the matter. It is still the descent and people would receive based on their openness and faith. From the 29th February 1956, the manifestation started and hence it is after that that the Mother started sending the Relics. We may say that from then on, what was contained in Sri Aurobindo’s cells and later in the earth in general became fully active.Β
Sri Aurobindo’s cells were the first physical cells holding the supramental consciousness. Next, the earth is able to hold it.Β
Affectionately,
Alok Da
