Your today’s answer on Traditions shows how immature you people are. If she becomes even more stubborn, inspired by your response, what will the atmosphere be like in her home? Why don’t you teach or show a middle path? If she wears these things out of respect when she’s around her in-laws, what’s the harm? Alok da,this is a question on “desire” as I’m trying to understand from what Sri Aurobindo wrote and also from my own little perplexion I’m facing in life right now. in the opening passage of national value of art Sri Aurobindo says unlike the simple primitive life, wants of vital instincts brought the hunger for wealth, luxury, beautiful women, rich food and drinks but also brought violence, fraud, selfishness etc…i was reminded of this passage when Someone online recently posted a weirdly fascinating piece of design they’ve made for their luxurious home and there’s this particular response to that post by praising it and mocking the glorification of so called banal minimalist houses, let me quote it for context “This is what you gave up when you chose minimalism. You gave up drama. You gave up spirit. You gave up whimsy. And you plastered all of it flat”🤔.
