AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I don’t know where my anxiety comes from. It feels like my body becomes tense suddenly, as though something bad were about to happen and my mind starts panicking. πŸ§˜πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸ˜°πŸ’–πŸŒΎ[…]

I’ve been practising Pranayama with Breath Retention for 16 seconds, even though for very short periods (3-5 minutes). I don’t do any Asanas but do intense sports practices. Can you tell me whether this panic could be a result of Pranayama?

Some types of pranayama can lead to difficulties. The safe ones are Nadi shuddhi and very simply observing the breath without trying to regulate it. Simple deep breathing also helps. This should take away the panic.

Do practice asanas and set a time apart for calling Peace. 🌼

Affectionately,

Alok Da
