AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Sri Aurobindo

I am drawn to the Mother’s Teachings, and for the past couple of years spent quite some time reading and taking notes on a variety of subjects. I now feel that I have read enough and it is time for me to start living them. I am doing that, slowly and steadily, notably in work and in parenting. Also, with regards to my health, I am making efforts to regularly exercise, eat a good diet, etc. The Mother herself said this: “It is best to live a Divine teaching”. 😊🙏🏻🌸🌏[…]

Your aspiration as well as anguish is quite understandable. Yes, there are so many things in the writings of Sri Aurobindo that would be of

I want to know if The Mother refers to Sri Aurobindo as ‘Lord’? And so, when They say, the aim of life is to know the Divine and unite with It, do they mean to know the Lord and unite with Him? So, do we look to know Sri Aurobindo and The Mother as the Divine, and unite with Them by offering ourselves to Them integrally? I am curious how you understand this and practice this aim of Life. 😊🙏🏻🪷❤️‍🔥

The Lord is the Ishwara, the Supreme Lord as the Creator of the Worlds, also known as the Purushottama, Paramatma, Parameshwara in Hindu thought.

Respected Sir, Reference is CWSA Volume 28 Page 499, subject “Krishna as an Avatar” Answer No.3. Question – If Krishna was an overmind “God”, that means he was not an incarnation, not the Divine, but somebody else who claimed to be the Divine – i.e., he was a god who somehow thought he was God. Not understood, what Sri Aurobindo wants to say about Krishna?🪈🦚💙🛞

There is a gentle sarcasm in it. The disciple has asked a question

Had Sri Aurobindo seen the future road map of the Supramental Force descending to Earth’s atmosphere, after the 1st meeting with The Mother? Or did it come on the way? If he had already seen that, then why didn’t he explain all these to the Mother? Then Mother would stay there permanently instead of returning & second coming events &…, as I have not read the 1st meeting of Sri Aurobindo with The Mother yet. ☀️🪷🧘‍♂️✨🌏

Both Sri Aurobindo and The Mother were independently conscious of the work and the mission of establishing the Divine Consciousness here upon earth. They knew

Could you please suggest me any Book by Sri Aurobindo and The Mother which I can recommend to them or say to all highly educated contemporary young adults having ingrained analytical thinking based on logical reasoning without any spiritual bent of mind?? Meanwhile, I will continue pray to The Mother for all these youngsters and finally trust Divine Grace which alone can infuse aspiration into their hearts. 🌅🖋️🦁🌸

There are some good short compilations from the writings that work best. It will depend upon the kind of interest that the children have. A

Why does Sri Aurobindo appear to be so severe and repetitive in his critique of Shankara’s Mayavada  compared to other schools like Vishishtadvaita, and is this intensity necessary to dislodge a 2000-year-old dominance from the Indian psyche, or is there a more gentle path for Mayavadins to transition to the Integral vision? 🧘‍♂️✨📖🕉️

Yes. That is quite a pertinent observation. But first we must understand that his remarks are not about Shankara and Buddha as a person, –

Why did Sri Aurobindo and the Mother alone descend to bring about the Supramental Transformation and elaborate a complete path of Integral Yoga, while other great souls like Sri Krishna, Mahavatar Baba, or altruistic truths-seekers, though Divine, did not undertake this specific, comprehensive work of Transforming earthly life?🌄❤️‍🔥😊🙏🏻🌷

One could answer this question in different ways. But first we need to draw a distinction between a sattwic, selfless, honest person and a spiritual
