Hansa is the Soul. The Paramhansa word is an epithet to souls that have realised the Divine, the Supersoul and grown one with Him. They can help and guide others if they are so destined.
It has nothing to do with descent, transformation, etc., which are unique to Sri Aurobindo’s Yoga.
